Pro Wrestling HERA

A year after the founding of Mishima Pro Wrestling, women's wrestling was on the rise internationally, and a promotion was needed to elevate and rival those of the male counterparts. Pro Wrestling HERA was founded in 1995 by Mishima Pro Wrestling founder Heihachi Mishima and Jun Kazama. Much like Mishima Pro, Pro Wrestling HERA, or simply called HERA by its legion of fans, welcomed international female competitors to test their strength and skill against some of Japan's best female wrestlers and fighters. Throughout the years, HERA has managed to keep up with the competition in Japan, while also keeping up with certain trends in the wrestling and fighting world. With a new era before them, these modern day warrior queens look to do battle for glory and more.

Re: Pro Wrestling HERA

Pro Wrestling HERA Sakura Quest Tour Results & Review
Kyoto, JPN

2,000 Fans in Attendance

1. Honoka and Marie Rose vs. Ayane and Malin
The young lioness duo of Honoka and Marie Rose had the misfortune of facing off against YUREI's Ayane and Malin in the opening contest of the night. Though it looked like Honoka and Rose were going to rally back late in the match, dirty tactics from Malin and a rear naked choke hold from Ayane prevented the young lioness duo from securing the victory in 9 minutes.

2. Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs vs. Sonya Blade and Samus Aran
Another young lioness duo, Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs, were set for action against the veteran duo of Gaijin Force leader Sonya Blade and Samus Aran. Unlike the last match, Cage and Briggs showed their grit from the get-go and looked to secure a surprise victory, only to be upended by Blade and Aran. Blade slapped the armbar on Cage to get the win for her team in 8 minutes. After the match, Blade shook hands with both Cage and Briggs, a sign of respect being shown to the crowd.

3. Li Mei, Wu Ruixiang, and Mei Ling Zhou vs. Anna Williams, Mileena, and Shiki
The LOTUS trio of Li Mei, Wu Ruixiang, and Mei Ling Zhou faced off against Anna Williams, Shiki, and a none too happy Mileena, who suffered a tough loss at Siege of Amazons in her bid to win the Pro Wrestling HERA Tag Team Championships. The YUREI trio of Williams, Shiki, and Mileena wasted no time taking out their frustrations out on their opponents, but the tides turned quickly as Li Mei and Mei Ling Zhou unleashed some offense. When it was time for Wu Ruixiang to end the match, she clumsily stumbled, leaving herself open for a Mileena pile driver and a frog splash to get the win in 11 minutes.

4. Christie Monteiro, Josie Rizal, and Darli Dagger vs. Sophitia Alexandra, Cassandra Alexandra, and Helena Douglas
Christie Monteiro and Josie Rizal had been on a tear as Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions, while the Alexandra Sisters have been on a tear of their own in that division. Along with their respective partners, this was a high-flying, bruising, six woman tag match that was knock down and drag out. Sophitia Alexandra managed to get the victory with a surprise roll up on Rizal to get the victory in 12 minutes. After the match, a brazen Cassandra Alexandra issued a challenge to Monteiro and Rizal for their Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships at Sakura Quest, followed by taunting a crying Rizal.

5. Aoi Umenokouji vs. Setsuka
This match was more of a showcase of technical know how in the ring and more of a sigh of relief for the crowd, who witnessed some intense action from the last two bouts. Both Umenokouji and Setsuka were evenly matched throughout the contest, and it looked like either one would secure the victory, but they managed to counter each other. The match ended with Setsuka placing Umenokouji in a Octopus stretch to get the win in 10 minutes.

6. Mai Shiranui vs. Kokoro
The Ace of Pro Wrestling HERA's Cruiserweight Division and reigning Queen of the Amazons Champion, Mai Shiranui, faced off against up-and-coming fresh faced star, Kokoro, in a wild high-flying match. At certain points in the match, Shiranui hit some power attacks of her own on Kokoro, and each time she went for the pin, Kokoro managed to kick out. Shiranui looked to end the match with a finishing attack made famous by her grandfather, also named the Shiranui, but Kokoro managed to counter the attack and looked to go for the pin with a Blue Thunder Bomb, but only getting a two count. Kokoro looked to end the match with a diving splash, but she misses as Shiranui rolls out of the way. Shiranui ends the match with a side German suplex to get the win in 13 minutes. Backstage, Kokoro expresses her desire to challenge Shiranui again, but this time for the Queen of the Amazons Championship at Sakura Quest.

7. Chun-Li, Chai Xianghua, and Pai Chan vs. Juri Han, D.Va, and Chae Lim
The semi main event saw LOTUS' Chun-Li, Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Champion Chai Xianghua, and Pai Chan, taking on Team Korea's Juri Han, D.Va, and Chae Lim. There was a lot of heat in this match as Chun Li and Juri Han battled throughout the arena, Xianghua and D.Va outdoing each other with a number of high flying spots, plus Pai Chan and Chae Lim going punch for punch and kick for kick with each other. Once Chun-Li and Juri Han returned back to the ring, Team Korea gained the upper hand, triple teaming Chun-Li. Chun-Li made the hot tag to Xianghua, who was still on the offense, knocking down Chae Lim and Juri Han, before resuming her aerial duel with D.Va. Xianghua managed to hit the 450 Splash on D.Va to secure the victory for her team in 20 minutes.

8. Kasumi and Athena Asamiya vs. Rainbow Mika and Yamato Nadeshiko
The main event saw 2020 Kazumi Mishima Memorial winner Kasumi team up with Athena Asamiya to take on Pro Wrestling HERA World Champion Rainbow Mika and her partner Yamato Nadeshiko. Asamiya and Nadeshiko started the match with a test of strength, which was won by Nadeshiko, followed by taunting and flexing. Asamiya countered with a series of strikes and kicks, and even a clothesline, which didn't phase Nadeshiko, who delivered a clothesline of  her own. Nadeshiko and R.Mika double teamed Asamiya for a while, causing Kasumi to get very antsy in her corner. It looked like Kasumi was going to get that tag, only to get knocked down by Mika and Nadeshiko. The double teaming continued, but Asamiya broke free and quickly tagged Kasumi, who came out charging like a house of fire on both R.Mika and Nadeshiko. Kasumi took control towards the end of the match and put Nadeshiko in a Falcon Arrow, followed by a diving splash to secure the victory in 25 minutes. After the match, Kasumi grabbed a microphone and thanked the crowd for showing up to the event. Kasumi ended the event by declaring that she will become the new Pro Wrestling HERA World Champion.

A good show from start to finish.

Re: Pro Wrestling HERA

Pro Wrestling HERA Sakura Quest Tour Night 2 Results
Kyoto, JPN

1. Honoka and Marie Rose vs. Skarlet and Tira
The young lioness duo of Honoka and Marie Rose took on YUREI's Skarlet and Tira in the opening bout. The match didn't favor Honoka and Rose, who looked resilient enough to put up a fight against their opponents, but they were outmatched and loss in 8 minutes.

2. Cassie Cage vs. Samus Aran
Young Lioness Cassie Cage faced off against Samus Aran in a very entertaining yet technical match. Cage looked like she was going to secure a victory over the veteran Aran, but it was not meant to be as Samus hit the Metroid Shocker (Blade Runner) to gain the victory in 10 minutes. After the match, Samus patted Cage on the back and left the ring.

3. Li Mei and Wu Ruixiang vs. Mileena and Anna Williams
LOTUS's Li Mei and Wu Ruixiang were in tag team action against YUREI's Mileena and Anna Williams. Li Mei and Mileena were evenly matched during the bout, but the underhanded tactics of Anna Williams turned the tide in her team's favor. Li Mei tagged in Wu Ruixiang, who stumbled her way into the ring and received a double team beatdown from Mileena and Anna. It looked like Anna Williams was going to get the pin, but a reversal roll up from Wu Ruixiang gave her team the victory in 11 minutes.

4. Josie Rizal vs. Cassandra Alexandra
Josie Rizal faced off against a very feisty Cassandra Alexandra in a clash of styles between the two female cruiserweights. The high flying Rizal unleashed her signature aerial attacks, while the brash Cassandra used her brawling and technical skills. Cassandra got the better of Rizal with a roll up to get the win in 10 minutes.

5. Sweet Valentines (Ivy Valentine and Jill Valentine) and Claire Redfield vs. Kitana, Jade, and Julia Chang
Pro Wrestling HERA Tag Team Champions, Ivy and Jill Valentine, along with Claire Redfield, took on New Edenian Order's Kitana, Jade, and Julia Chang. It was a raucous six-woman tag match with lots of brawling and some high flying. The match ended with Kitana catching Ivy off guard with a missile dropkick and Royal Flush (Canadian Destroyer) to get the win in 13 minutes. After the match, Kitana announced that she and Jade will challenge Ivy and Jill for the Pro Wrestling HERA Tag Team Championships.

6. Mai Shiranui, Sakura Kasugano, and Ibuki vs. Kokoro, Karin Kanzuki, and Momiji
Another six-woman tag team match was underway, this time with the cruiserweights taking flight as Pro Wrestling HERA Queen of the Amazons Champion Mai Shiranui teamed up with Sakura Kasugano and Ibuki to take on Kokoro, Karin Kanzuki, and Momiji. There were lots of high flying sequences throughout the match, but it would be Kokoro who would secure the victory with a Kokoro Clutch (Koji Clutch) on Ibuki to get the win for her team in 10 minutes.

7. Chun-Li and Chai Xianghua vs. Juri Han and D.Va
The semi-main event saw Chun Li and Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Champion Chai Xianghua take on Team Korea's Juri Han and D.Va. Unlike the last time the two teams met, Team Korea sought out their retribution in a very intense match from start to finish. Juri Han placed Chun Li in the Tarantula submission hold to get the win in 20 minutes.

8. Kasumi and Athena Asamiya vs. Rainbow Mika and Yamato Nadeshiko
The main event saw another rematch from the last show with a much different result as Rainbow Mika and Yamato Nadeshiko secured the win over Kasumi and Athena Asamiya in 20 minutes.

Another good show from start to finish.

Re: Pro Wrestling HERA

Pro Wrestling HERA Sakura Quest in Yokohama Results
Yokohama, JPN

1. Honoka and Marie Rose vs. Ayane and Skarlet
The opening contest saw the young lionesses duo of Honoka and Marie Rose take on YUREI's Ayane and Skarlet. This matchup was basically Ayane and Skarlet dominating their young lioness opponents, beating them with no sign of remorse whatsoever. The match ended with Skarlet hitting Blood Runs Cold (Scorpion Death Drop) on Marie Rose to get the win in 8 minutes.

2. Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs vs. Samus Aran and Cammy White
Up next, another pair of young lionesses, Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs, tried their luck in tag team action against Samus Aran and Cammy White. Sonya Blade was on commentary as she watched the match thoroughly. Unlike the last match, Cage and Briggs put up some resistance against Samus and Cammy. The young lioness duo looked to secure the win, but Samus and Cammy surprised them both with a German Suplex pin each to get the victory in 10 minutes. After the match, Cammy shook hands with both Cage and Briggs, while Samus patted them both on the shoulders.

3. Seong Mi-Na, Chae Lim, and May Lee vs. Leifang, Ling Xiaoyu, and Li Mei
Team Korea's trio of Seong Mi-Na, Chae Lim and May Lee looked to get the ball rolling for their faction as they faced LOTUS's trio of Leifang, Ling Xiaoyu, and Li Mei. There were some high flying action from all six women, but the action slowed down a bit as the Korean trio displayed their technical skills in the ring. After lots of back and forth action in the ring, Seong Mi-Na secured the victory with a Guillotine Leg Drop off the top rope on Xiaoyu to get the win in 12 minutes.

4. Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship: Christie Monteiro and Josie Rizal (c) vs. Sophitia Alexandra and Cassandra Alexandra
The Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship was up for grabs as Christie Monteiro and Josie Rizal defended their titles against the Alexandra Sisters. There were a lot of high flying attacks from Monteiro and Rizal, while the Alexandras looked to keep the match as grounded as possible. Eventually, Cassandra took the match into her own hands with a series of high flying attacks, a bronco buster on Monteiro and even a hip attack on Rizal. Sophitia ended the match with an Angel Cutter (RKO) on Rizal to get the win and her team becoming Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions in 12 minutes. After the match, Cassandra raised her gold above her head, while taunting a crying Rizal.

5. Pro Wrestling HERA Queen of the Amazons Championship: Mai Shiranui (c) vs. Kokoro
The Queen of the Amazons Championship was on the line as Mai Shiranui defended her championship against Kokoro. You wouldn't know it just from the physicality of the match alone, but both women were cruiserweights, who were not only fast, but were also hitting each other like locomotives. Kokoro looked to have the match won many times, only get near fall after near fall. Kokoro looked to end the match with a Geisha Stunner, but Mai reversed the finisher and caught her with the aptly named Shiranui to get the win and to retain the Queen of the Amazons Championship in 15 minutes. After the match, both Mai and Kokoro shook hands and hugged, a sign of respect being shown to the crowd.

6. Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Championship: Chai Xianghua (c) vs. D.Va
The Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Championship was up for grabs as Chai Xianghua defended her championship against D.Va. Both Xianghua and D.Va are no stranger to one another as a video package highlights their rivalry. The match was just like the last one, except more emphasis on high flying attacks and countering each other signature holds and attacks. In certain points of the match, D.Va looked like she had the match won, but her cockiness and playing to the crowd caught up with her. Xianghua caught her with the X-Factor and the Lotus Lock to secure the victory and to retain the Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Championship in 16 minutes.

7. Pro Wrestling HERA Intercontinental Championship: Sonya Blade (c) vs. Julia Chang
The Pro Wrestling HERA Intercontinental Championship was  on the line as Sonya Blade defended her title against Julia Chang. The match itself was a great display of pure technical wrestling, especially coming from Sonya, who is often seen more as a brawler.  There were a lot of escape holds, arm drags, leglocks, and headlocks. Julia placed Sonya in a trio of German suplexes and looked to win the match with an armbar, but Sonya managed to reach the ropes. Julia looked to put Sonya away with a piledriver, but Sonya countered the attack with a back body drop, followed by her own German suplexes. Sonya then hit Julia with a Blade Runner, followed by an armbar to retain the Pro Wrestling HERA Intercontinental Championship in 18 minutes.

8. Pro Wrestling HERA Tag Team Championship: Sweet Valentines (Ivy Valentine and Jill Valentine) vs. Kitana and Jade
Ivy and Jill, collectively known as the Sweet Valentines, defended their Pro Wrestling HERA Tag Team Championship against Kitana and Jade. Much like the last match, this one also provided some technical prowess from all four women, although in some cases, there were high flying antics mixed with striking abilities being thrown in for good measure. The Valentines looked to hit their finisher, the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, only for Kitana to catch Jill with a Royal Flush (Canadian Destroyer). Jade surprised Ivy with a roundhouse kick, followed by Kitana hitting another Royal Flush to secure the victory and to win the Pro Wrestling HERA Tag Team Championship in 22 minutes.

9. Chun-Li vs. Juri Han
We are treated to a video package highlighting the rivalry between Chun-Li and Juri for 2 minutes. Afterwards, the match begins with a staredown between the two, which ends with Juri licking her lips and delivering a forearm to Chun-Li. Chun-Li and Juri engage in a forearm beatdown for a  minute and 30 seconds, with both women gaining an advantage over the other at one point during the match. There were a lot of power attacks, high flying moves, submission holds, near falls, and near count outs throughout the match. Both women looked exasperated, but continued  fighting throughout  the match. By the time they were still throwing fists and feet a plenty, Chun-Li placed Juri in a figure four leglock, only for Juri to reverse it. It looked like Chun-Li was about to tap out, but the time limit expired, ending the match in a draw.

10. Pro Wrestling HERA World Championship: Rainbow Mika (c) vs. Kasumi
Before the match, we are treated to a short video of the lineage of the Pro Wrestling HERA World Championship and the many women who have held it, including Kazumi Mishima, Jun Kazama, Chun-Li, Sonya Blade, and the current champion Rainbow Mika. We are then shown highlights of the Kazumi Mishima Memorial Cup, which was won by Kasumi and highlights of Kasumi feuding with Rainbow Mika. This match showcased a lot of R.Mika's power and the speedy elusiveness of Kasumi. At one point during the match, Kasumi summoned enough strength to lift R.Mika off the ground with a brainbuster, followed by a series of snapmare suplexes. Kasumi looked poised to win the match, but R.Mika caught her with a Rainbow Driller (Spinning Falcon Arrow), followed by a Rainbow Splash off the top rope to get the win and retain the Pro Wrestling HERA World Championship. After the match, Yamato Nadeshiko celebrated with R.Mika, followed by Kasumi shaking hands with the both of them before leaving the  ring. R.Mika then took the microphone and declared that she is the strongest champion there is and that she will continue to defend the championship without fail. A colorful array of confetti fall from the rafters to end the show.

It was a solid card from top to bottom. There were two title exchanges, mainly tag titles being exchanged, as well as technical clinic between Sonya and Julia Chang. Other matches that were also solid included Mai vs. Kokoro for the Queen of the Amazons Championship and Xianghua vs. D.Va for the Cruiserweight Championship.
