Pro Wrestling HERA Dawn of Destiny Results & Review
Tokyo, JPN
1. Star Angels Carnival: Block A Final: Chai Xianghua vs. Cammy
The opening match saw the Block A Finals of the Star Angels Carnival as Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Champion Chai Xianghua faced off against Cammy. There was lots of high flying from both women, but Cammy put on her technical and submission skills to good use for a good portion of the match, trying to ground Xianghua. Xianghua bounces back with some striking abilities to slow down Cammy. Cammy goes for a German Suplex, which Xianghua backflips out of and catches her with a reverse frankensteiner, leading into a Lotus Lock, which made Cammy tap out. Xianghua won the match in 15 minutes, earning her a spot in the Finals.
2. Star Angels Carnival: Block B Final: Mai Shiranui vs. Hana "D.Va" Song
It was now time for the B Block Finals for the Star Angels Carnival as Pro Wrestling HERA Queen of the Amazons Champion Mai Shiranui took on Hana "D.Va" Song. Much like the last match, there were a lot of high flying attacks, but there were also striking and a few tongue-in-cheek moments. D.Va looked to end the match with her finisher, the High Score Frog Splash, but missed her target, allowing Mai to hit her patented Shiranui to get the victory in 15 minutes and the other spot in the Finals later on tonight.
3. #1 Contender's Match for the Queen of the Amazons Championship: Kokoro vs. Momiji
While on the subject of the Queen of the Amazons Championship, a number one contender's match was up next as Kokoro and Momiji squared off. While both women were in the Cruiserweight division, there were minimal high flying going on in the match, giving way for more technical and striking abilities. At many points in the match, Kokoro looked as if she had the match won, but Momiji refused to stay down. Kokoro looked to end the match with a Kokoro Kutter (RKO), but Momiji tossed her to the canvas and finished her with a Falcon Arrow to get the win in 12 minutes.
4. Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship: The Alexandra Sisters (Sophitia and Cassandra) (c) vs. Christie Monteiro and Josie Rizal
The Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Tag Team Championships were on the line as The Alexandra Sisters defended their titles against former champions Christie Monteiro and Josie Rizal. Sophitia and Christie started the match with some chain grappling leading to a stalemate. Christie goes for some high flying attacks, but Sophitia managed to counter them, showcasing her technical skills. Christie manages to break away from Sophitia and tags in Josie. Cassandra tags Sophitia, as she enters the ring and starts taunting Josie while tormenting her with some technical, submission holds, and some paintbrushing. The Alexandras were in control of the match as they isolated Josie from Christie. It looked like The Alexandras were going to retain their titles, but Josie made the tag to Christie, who was like a house of fire. Christie returned the same treatment Cassandra did to her partner, followed by doing a hip attack. Sophitia tagged herself in the match and tried to even the odds, but Christie caught her with a float-over DDT. Christie took to the top rope and deliver a 450 Splash to get the victory in 20 minutes, retaking the titles or her team.
5. Darli Dagger, Laura Matsuda, and Julia Chang vs. Taki, Ayane, and Shiki
New Edenian Order or NEO, looked to continue their winning ways as the team of Darli Dagger, Laura Matsuda, and Julia Chang took on YUREI's Taki, Ayane, and Shiki. It was a wild six woman tag match from start to finish that saw Matsuda place Shiki in a Kimura arm lock to get the win in 10 minutes.
6. Pro Wrestling HERA Intercontinental Championship: Sonya Blade (c) vs. Nina Williams vs. Anna Williams
The Pro Wrestling HERA Intercontinental Championship was up for grabs as Sonya Blade defended her title against feuding sisters in Nina and Anna Williams. Right from the jump, Nina and Anna bum-rushed Sonya, using a variety of double team attacks, including Total Elimination. Anna quickly goes for the pin, only for Nina to stop her. It didn't take long for Nina and Anna to come to blows, each one trying to outdo the other with submission holds aplenty. Anna placed Nina in the Tarantula, only for Sonya to blast Anna with a punch to the face, dropping Nina to the ground. Sonya delivered a Blade Runner on Anna to get the win and to retain the Pro Wrestling HERA Intercontinental Championship in 15 minutes. After the match, Nina entered the ring and stared down Sonya, hinting at a possible title shot in the future.
7. Athena Asamiya vs. Asuka Kazama
Up next, was a match between Athena Asamiya and Asuka Kazama. Before the match began, Athena and Asuka shook hands, much to the crowd's delight. The match itself was filled with chain grappling, striking, and lots of technical prowess, plus a few countering each other's finishers. Both women looked equally matched and spent, but they continued on. Asuka would win the match with a Kazama Driver (Powerbomb Piledriver combo) to win the match in 25 minutes. After the match, both Athena and Asuka shook hands again, much to the crowd's delight.
8. Pro Wrestling HERA Tag Team Championship: Kitana and Jade (c) vs. Sweet Valentines (Ivy and Jill Valentine)
The Pro Wrestling HERA Tag Team Championships were on the line as Kitana and Jade defended their titles against former champions, The Sweet Valentines. Both teams started the match in a brawl, with Kitana fighting Ivy and Jade fighting Jill on the outside. Kitana and Ivy continued brawling,, laying in hard punches to each other's faces and guts, while the young lionesses had to separate Jade and Jill from each other, but not without getting beat up themselves. The brawling ceased as both women engaged in chain grappling and submission holds. There was a minute of exchanging blows between Ivy and Kitana, leading to Ivy tagging in Jill, leading to a vicious double teaming. Jade tried to intervene, but the referee stopped her, allowing Ivy to use a whip to choke Kitana and Jill using a steel chair. Jill goes for the cover, but gets a two count. Jill continues beating down on Kitana and goes for a brainbuster. Jill goes for the cover, but Jade breaks it up. Ivy rushes in and takes out Jade, allowing The Sweet Valentines to go for the Valentine's Day Massacre (Magic Killer), but Kitana counters the finisher and tags in Jade, who blasts both Ivy and Jill relentlessly. Jade delivers a few strikes followed by hitting her finisher, Green With Envy (Midnight Special) to get the win and to retain the titles in 25 minutes.
9. Star Angels Carnival: Final: Chai Xianghua vs. Mai Shiranui
We are given quick highlights of the Star Angels Carnival, specifically covering Xianghua and Mai's journey throughout the tournament before their eventual meeting. As the match began, both women shook hands, much to the crowd's delight. There were a lot of high flying attacks, mixed with some striking and a few counters. These two were evenly match to say the least, which made things a little interesting. The taunting was also tongue in cheek as Xianghua smacked her butt several times and Mai shaking her tits. Afterward, things got really serious as both women exchanged punches, kicks, and forearms, followed by countering each other's finishers. Mai hit the Shiranui on Xianghua and looked to have the match won, but Xianghua kicked out at the last second. Mai looked to hit another Shiranui on Xianghua, who countered with a Lotus Lock, forcing Mai to tap out in 30 minutes. Xianghua was awarded the Star Angels Carnival trophy by Mai, who shook her hand and hugged her, much to the crowd's delight. The celebration wouldn't last long as Kokoro and Hana "D.Va" Song each made challenges of their own for the Pro Wrestling HERA Cruiserweight Championship. Xianghua raised the title above their heads, daring either one to challenge her.
10. Pro Wrestling HERA World Championship: Rainbow Mika (c) vs. Chun-Li
Before the match, we are treated to a short video of the lineage of the Pro Wrestling HERA World Championship and the many women who have held it, including Kazumi Mishima, Jun Kazama, Chun-Li, Sonya Blade, and the current champion Rainbow Mika. R. Mika and Chun-Li shook hands before the match. The match was a display of strength, power,, and unrelenting fighting spirit. At times, it looked like Chun-Li had the match won, but R. Mika kicked out every time. Chun-Li looked to put away R. Mika for good, but a surprise Rainbow Driller and Rainbow Splash from R. Mika sealed the victory. After the match, Yamato Nadeshiko celebrated with R.Mika. R.Mika then took the microphone and declared that she is the strongest champion there is and that she will continue to defend the championship without fail. A colorful array of confetti fall from the rafters to end the show.
Another solid card from top to bottom. The cruiserweights, Xianghua and Mai specifically, put on a show. The Intercontinental Championship match, the match between Athena Asamiya and Asuka Kazama, plus the tag team championship match between Kitana and Jade against the Sweet Valentines were top notch and thrilling. Pro Wrestling HERA really pulled out all the stops for one of their major events.
