The next Chrono Key has surfaced in the most unlikely of places. The Golden Galaxy Grand Casino! Games! Glitz! And grievances galore! Can Tackleton bluff his way to victory? Find out this week on-
Episode 11: “Gambling is the Key!”
In orbit above the Casino Planet "LUXOR-X"
Tackleton Angelsmythe: This is it. Luxor-X. A whole planet dedicated to vice, velvet carpets, and bad decisions.
Comet: So, basically your natural habitat?
Tackleton: Please, I make heroic decisions.
Comet: Uh-huh.
Lunara: What do you think, Star Prince? Too much?
Tackleton's eyes widened, and then he quickly averted his gaze.
Tackleton: Uh... very... strategic camouflage for a place like this.
Comet: Translation: He thinks you look stunning and is malfunctioning. Carry on.
THE GOLDEN GALAXY GRAND CASINO FLOOR

The casino was a neon fever dream—holographic roulette wheels spun, alien jazz bands played, and towering slot machines belched smoke and coins. Glimmering chandeliers floated freely in anti-gravity suspension.
Ignis: This place is huge! And weirdly smells like... space cigars. Think they need a light?
Zirca: Let’s find the Chrono Key and get out before Blaze bets us into debt.
Magnum PT: Too late, sweetheart. I’m all in—hair, honor, and biceps, and fifty grand.
Dealer: Sir, what is this currency?
Magnum PT: Earth dollars. What? No good?
The Defenders were approached by a sparkly-skinned, tuxedo-clad game master.
Game Master: Welcome to the Golden Galaxy Games! Today’s prize: a cosmic artifact known as the Chrono Key—held in trust by the casino until the winner of tonight’s high-stakes tournament emerges!
Tackleton: And we just have to win it?
Game Master: Or bluff, cheat, bribe, or seduce your way to it! Just don’t get caught.
Lunara: Oh, I like these rules.
Game Master: That was a joke, miss.
Lunara: Right! Of course! I knew that! Haha!
The table was dramatic. Spotlights shone. Opponents included a crab man, a robot in a tuxedo, a talking slot machine with sunglasses, and surprisingly...Baron Von Bee, who slammed down his chips the moment he locked eyes with Star Prince.
Baron Von Bee: You! Sssstar Prince! My arch-nemesis! I knew I’d see you again! Firssst my wife, then my pride! I’m going to ssssting you BACK!
Tackleton: Baron, I didn’t flirt with your wife. I came to negotiate! That’s it!
Baron Von Bee: Your tone was too gallant! No one comes into MY domain with that swagger unless they intend to move in!
Lunara, Marina, Prism Nova, Ignis and Zirca snuck around the casino to investigate rumors of a thief being on the premises.
Prism Nova: I heard it the moment we got here. The rumor is, someone very sly is on the premises looking to snag the key.
Lunara: You mean other than us? We'd better find them, before they find their hands on the key.
Marina: It's highly protected, so we should be safe, but let's not rely on that. We've seen too much to know it'd be that simple
The table was tense. Tackleton and Baron Von Bee were neck and neck with their winnings.
Baron Von Bee: You wouldn’t dare go all in, Angelsmythe!
Tackleton: I don’t bluff, Baron. I bet it all on the heart of the cards.
Comet: That made no sense, but it sounded cool. Good job.
Tackleton threw down a royal nebula flush. An easy victory.
Crowd: Ooooooh!
Baron Von Bee: CURSE YOU SSSSTAR PRINCE! CURSE YOOOOU!!! My rage grows every second. I WILL defeat you Star Prince!
Tackleton: ...Don't bet on it.
Comet: That was much better.
As the Chrono Key was brought out in a levitating vault, an explosion of glitter and perfume rocked the stage.
Velvette Rex descended upside-down from a chandelier.
Velvette Rex: Oops! Did I crash the party?
He lashed out, snatching the Chrono Key mid-air and vaulted into a warp portal.
Velvette Rex: I needed the key brought to the winner before I could make my move. I told you I'd get what I wanted. Better luck next time! Toodles!
Tackleton: Grrr! Velvette Rex, you're playing a dangerous game.
Baron Von Bee: I like him already!
Lunara stomped up, still in her low-cut, high-slit, dress that was clearly not helping her mood.
Lunara: I wore this ridiculous dress to impress you, and he gets away with the key?
Tackleton: What?
Comet: Uh, Defenders? I hate to interrupt the fallout of whatever romantic comedy this is becoming... but we’ve got a problem. There's a Hive Ship on our tail... and I think Baron Von Bee is still sore about the whole situation.
Lunara: HE WAS NEVER INTERESTED IN HER!
Tackleton: Looks like game night’s over. Back to work, Defenders.
Cue a flash of the Stellar Express blasting off from the casino platform, dodging stinger missiles, and setting course for another absurdly epic space chase.
Prism Nova: I can't believe that happened!
Lunara: I know, I wore that dress and Tackleton wasn't impressed!
Ignis: I think he was, but I think Prism was talking about Velvette Rex stealing the key.
Lunara: Oh yeah.
Prism Nova: With only two Chrono Keys left to collect, time is running out—and so is luck. We receive word of two simultaneous Chrono Key sightings... on opposite ends of the galaxy! With Dark Heart gaining ground, we have no choice but to split the team for a risky dual retrieval operation.
Lunara: I'm going with Tackleton! I swore to protect him!
Ignis: You sure that's the reason?
Lunara: What does that mean?!
Prism Nova: Next time! Double Time Trouble!

Episode 12: “Double Time Trouble!”
The Stellar Express cruised silently through the stars, its engines humming a low mechanical lullaby. The bridge was bathed in deep violet light from a distant nebula outside. Comet spun lazily in his chair, his tail flicking across a control panel. His holographic eyes traced two blinking red points on the map projected in midair.
Comet: Well... we’ve got good news, bad news, and worse news. Good news: Two Chrono Key signals just lit up like a Glortok firecracker. Bad news: they’re nowhere near each other. Worse news... Velvette Rex already beat us to brunch at one of ‘em.
Tackleton was looking at a picture of his brother Jett, before he stepped forward, arms crossed over his chest, his cape draped dramatically to one side even though there wasn’t a breeze.
Tackleton: Two keys left. And one cosmic scoundrel trying to upstage us. Figures.
Lunara leaned against the rail, arms folded, her boots resting on the edge of a glowing console.
Lunara: We’re splitting up, aren’t we?
Tackleton: Exactly. Two teams. Two final keys. One galaxy-saving deadline for justice.
Comet brought the map into sharper focus. One red dot pulsed above a swirling gas planet—Nimbos-12, its atmosphere a churning sea of electrical storms. The other blinked from the depths of Nerathis IV, a once-vibrant ocean world turned to whispering darkness.
Magnum PT stepped forward with a calm click of his boots on the floor.
Magnum PT: Splitting our forces reduces the friendship factor, Chief. However, if we're running out of time, then pitter patter let's get at her.
Tackleton nodded.
Tackleton: Then it’s settled. Lunara, Comet, Magnum—you’re with me. We take the skies. Zirca, Ignis, Mariner, Prism, and Blaze—you’re diving.
Zirca gave a tight nod. Ignis cracked her knuckles and smirked.
Ignis: You want the fire to take a dive? I'll do what I gotta do.
Blaze: I'll protect the ladies with my life.
Comet: Great. One team gets lightning, the other gets soggy.
Nimbos-12
The Aeon Spire loomed like a jagged spear thrust up through the stormclouds—twisting, golden, and impossibly tall. Each ringed platform spiraled around the central tower, floating in shifting gravitation. Lightning arced around it, as if time itself protested its presence.
The Stellar Express released four Stellar Sailboards. Tackleton adjusted his cape and flipped his goggles down.
Tackleton: Okay, gang. Keep tight formation. The spire’s unstable, and the higher we go, the weirder it gets.
Lunara: Define ‘weird.’
Comet: Time dilation. Broken gravity. Remember, these keys are the uh "key" to unmaking a critical moment in past that would plunge the entire universe into darkness.
Magnum PT: How are we breathing in space?
They launched.
Wind screamed. Clouds swirled like ghostly hands. Sparks of static danced along their boots as they sailed from platform to platform, each one more warped than the last.
As they touched down on the first ring, the air shimmered—and suddenly they stood in a dense jungle. Vines looped down from above, the sky pulsed red, and a massive robotic saber-toothed tiger prowled nearby, eyes glowing with predatory calculation.
Tackleton: I don’t remember packing the time zoo.
The saber-tooth pounced. Tackleton sidestepped and unleashed a bright arc of light from his cosmic sword. It slashed through one of the beast’s mechanical fangs, sending sparks flying.
Comet ducked under a swinging tail and shot a bolt from his tail-mounted stinger cannon.
Comet: This is why I don’t camp.
Magnum PT leapt onto the beast’s back, wrapped his arm around its neck joint, and twisted sharply. The creature collapsed into a heap of twitching servos and steam.
Lunara looked impressed despite herself.
Lunara: Remind me not to challenge you to sparring again.
Magnum PT: Learned that from an amigo named Amigo.
They landed on the next platform—and were suddenly standing in a neon-lit alley lined with flickering digital signs. Holograms of other versions of themselves moved around them.
One Tackleton was older, scarred, wearing a crown. Another lay face-down in the street.
Lunara’s expression darkened. She walked up to a version of herself sitting on a bench, silent and still. The older Lunara wore a black cloak and no expression.
Lunara: Who are you?
Future Lunara didn’t answer.
Comet: Someone is trying to scare us away.
Tackleton: No time to be scared.
Lunara: Can I do it anyway?
A wall slid open. Dozens of security bots wheeled out, blades whirring. The team leapt into action. Tackleton slashed, Comet fired, Lunara waved her cosmic wand, and Magnum PT dropped an EMP grenade that shorted out half the grid.
When the lights came back up, everything was gone.
At last, the top of the spire. A great golden chamber spun slowly, surrounded by a halo of collapsing gears. At its center stood a ten-foot tall regal machine. Chancellor Chromos.
His voice echoed in fractured layers.
Chromos: Who dares climb the spiral without reverence?
Tackleton: I’m the Star Prince. Reverence is optional.
Chromos: Then you shall be dismantled in all directions.
Suddenly, robots that that looked like smaller versions of Chromos appeared. One raised a burning red sword. One fired erratic blasts. Lunara found herself surrounded. Magnum PT was immediately grabbed from behind.
Magnum PT: Cheap shot!
Tackleton fought the sword wielding robot, with swords clashing in starlit arcs. He parried, leapt, and impaled the robot, which shattered into stardust.
Meanwhile, Lunara was losing ground—the robots circled her and spun.
Real Lunara fell to her knees.
Comet dove in, firing a concussive blast that staggered the shadow.
Comet: No time to get dizzy, Lunara! Finish them off!
Lunara: Right! Prismatic Lunar Spiral Attack!
Lunara spun with her wand and destroyed the robots.
Magnum PT finished off his enemy with a leg drop.
Chromos spasmed, gears locking up.
Chromos: Impossible!
Tackleton: Are you the guardian of the key!?
Chromos: I was built by Alaric Angelsmythe to protect the key. The keys are the only thing capable of unlocking the moment that created the universe. The moment the Intercessor fired the weapon that killed Entity V.
Tackleton: And we're trying to prevent Dark Heart from doing just that. That's why we need the key. I am Tackleton Angelsmthe, son of Alaric Angelsmythe, grandson of the first Tackleton Angelsmyth, the Star Prince that worked with the Celestials to defeat Entity V.
Chromos lit up, and a hologram appeared, showing the iconic moment. Magnum PT caught sight of a familiar face in the struggle.
Magnum PT: Who was that, Chief?
Chromos: Records indicate the Celestial Azrael.
Magnum PT: Kind of looks like someone I knew.
A compartment opened. Inside: the Chrono Key.
Tackleton picked it up gently.
Tackleton: One more for the stars. One more for justice!
Chromos: Forgive me attacks. I did not know who you were.
Tackleton: You performed your job well. Thank you.
Magnum PT: Seriously, I think I knew that guy!
Lunara: You're not THAT old!
All: AHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Zirca: Looks like Team A got the key!
Ignis: And now it's up to us! Velvette Rex danced away with the prize, and we sank in shame. We’re the ones who fell. Time to rise again like a flame!
Zirca: Loss leaves a mark. Burns you in ways winning never could. It brands you.
Ignis: And maybe that's what we need right now. A burn deep enough to remember.
Zirca: The final Chrono Key is still out there. And we’re not letting anyone else take it.
Ignis: Not Velvette. And especially not Dark Heart.
Zirca and Ignis: This time...We don’t miss. Next time! Double Time Trouble Part 2!

Episode 13: "Double Time Trouble Part 2!"
The sea of Thalassia was a mirror of sapphire and silence. The surface gleamed under three distant suns, but the deeper one went, the darker the world became — until color itself seemed to die. The Star Skimmer, a small twin-pilot exploration craft, cut through the layers of pressure with a faint hum, lights flickering against the endless black.
Inside, Zirca was all focus. Her fingers danced across the console, mapping sonar waves. Ignis leaned back in the co-pilot seat, arms crossed, her crimson hair catching the glow of the monitors.
Ignis: How deep are we?
Zirca: Eleven thousand meters and descending.
Ignis: I can feel it. It's like the whole ocean’s angry we’re down here.
Zirca: It's just water.
Ignis: Is it?
Zirca: You're just nervous cause you're a Fire Adept.
Ignis: It's not my fault I was born with red hair under the Full Moon. I call that bad timing. Well...I get to fight alongside Tackleton and the rest of you...so maybe it was good timing...until THIS!
Zirca: You're safe in the Star Skimmer.
The hull creaked — a reminder of how fragile they were. Zirca didn’t flinch.
Ignis: ...I'm really glad you're certain of that. One of us needs to be.
Zirca: The readings match the myth. The Singing Trench. They say the current itself hums like a voice from another world.
Ignis: And we’re here to grab the throat and ask where it hid the Chrono Key.
Zirca: Something like that.
A warning light pulsed red. Magnetic interference. Then another — bio-signature detected.
Ignis: Oh, that’s comforting.
Zirca: Don’t joke. The readings are too irregular for fauna. Something is out there.
The screen flickered. For a moment, nothing but static. Then a shape appeared outside the viewport — glowing orange against the abyss.
Ignis pressed her face to the glass.
Ignis: Is that—
The shape raised an arm. Light burst from its palm — a flare of living fire in a world of cold. A man floated outside the ship. His submersible armor shimmered like molten gold, every movement trailing embers.
Zirca: It's Blaze Dominion!
He tapped twice on the hull, smirking through his helmet visor. The Star Skimmer’s airlock sealed him in. A hiss of steam and he stepped into the cramped cabin, removing his helm.
Blaze: I thought you two had better manners. You nearly scraped me on the descent.
Ignis: You were outside the ship!? Who walks on magma vents in the deep sea?!
Blaze: I thought we'd save time by splitting up.
Ignis: You must be full of yourself. I thought you were taking a nap!
Blaze: You didn't notice the missing suit? The warning sign that said someone had left the craft? You two need to pay more attention.
Zirca folded her arms.
Zirca: I got distracted by her!
Blaze: Uh-huh. Hey, by the way, I think I found it.
Ignis: The final Chrono Key?
Blaze: I was running out of oxygen, but we're on the right track.
The Star Skimmer glided into the trench’s mouth — a cathedral of coral spires and drifting bioluminescent plankton. The walls pulsed faintly, as if breathing.
Zirca adjusted the harmonic sensors.
Zirca: This isn’t just coral. It’s alive.
Blaze: Everything down here is. That's why the trench sings. It's a song of life, in the darkest depths. Life can survive the harshest situations...like after what Dark Heart did to me and my family.
Ignis: I'm sorry, Blaze.
Blaze: We're not the only ones he has tormented. This planet is a sign of that. It's so dark and cold because of the collape.
Ignis: Collapse?
Blaze: The first sun that ever drowned.
He spoke like a man reciting scripture. The temperature outside rose a few degrees — not from the magma, but from the energy field surrounding the structure ahead. It was a vast dome of translucent material — neither glass nor crystal — etched with spirals resembling constellations.
Ignis: Is that a city?
Blaze: It was. The Chrono Key is inside.
Zirca: Dark Heart dropped an entire sun on the planet!? Wouldn't the sun have engulfed the planet instead.
Blaze: It was a small star. That's why everything on this planet was built underwater. The magma inside is what kept them warm. You get a special kind of appreciation for life when you're clinging to the warmth of your planet. These people had great respect for the Chrono Key, and died to keep its location hidden.
Ignis: Then we better make sure it doesn't fall into the hands of that dastardly Dark Heart!
They suited up — pressurized suits trimmed with Defender insignia — and left the craft, descending onto the seafloor. Every step sank into glowing sediment. The water shimmered around Blaze, heat radiating from his armor. He moved like he belonged here, fire refusing to die even in the deep.
Ignis: Now that's confidence.
Blaze: What do you mean?
Ignis: How do you keep that fire burning underwater?
Blaze: You're a Fire Adept. Surely you know that the fire that burns inside of us can't be put out with mere water.
Ignis: Oh...right...sure...I totally knew that.
Zirca’s scanner emitted a low tone.
Zirca: Found the core. Twenty meters ahead.
The dome trembled. A low hum rippled through the water, turning into a haunting chord — beautiful, then mournful.
Blaze raised his hand.
The coral began to shift. Faces appeared in the glass, flickering like trapped souls. Zirca’s eyes widened.
Zirca: They’re resonant echoes — trapped consciousness from the collapse!
The dome cracked open. Beyond it, a glowing key.
Zirca: There it is! The Chrono Key! Let's just-
The first attack came without sound — a flicker of movement, then a dozen aquatic drones swarming from the shadows. Metallic sharks, fins lined with chronal crystal.
Ignis drew her flame blades — red energy bursting even in the water, her armor venting steam.
Ignis: Company!
Zirca fired harmonic bolts, each one creating a sonic ripple that knocked drones off course. Blaze grinned, flexing his muscles.
Blaze: Let’s make this interesting.
He ignited. The ocean lit up in streaks of gold — steam and fire colliding as he unleashed a spiral of molten energy. Drones melted mid-charge, slag falling like metallic rain.
Ignis kicked off the seafloor, spinning through two drones, slicing them apart with twin arcs of flame. Her laughter echoed through the comms.
Ignis: I'm doing it! Lighting up the water with my fire!
Zirca: It’s chaos!
Blaze: It’s beautiful!
Then the trench itself began to move.
A shadow rose beneath them — immense, coiling, its body made of coral, magma, and light. The water shimmered with particles of memory — the leviathan of the Singing Trench.
Ignis whispered, awestruck.
Ignis: That's a guardian if I ever saw one, and we're the interlopers! *gulp*
The creature’s eyes opened — twin suns. Its voice vibrated through the water.
Leviathan: TRESPASSERS. THE KEY WILL NOT BE USED FOR EVIL!
The pressure doubled. Zirca’s sensors exploded in static.
Zirca: We mean you no harm! We're here to protect the Chrono Keys from evil!
Blaze: It's not listening! We'll have to make it listen!
He extended both hands. Rings of light formed — a solar emblem behind him.
Blaze: Solar Inferno Drive!
The attack burst forward, a sphere of fire that tore through the trench. The leviathan screamed, light tearing from its body — but the backlash ripped the seafloor apart.
Blaze: Forgive me.
Leviathan: MY PURPOSE IS TO PROTECT THE KEY!
Blaze: We're here to help! If we didn't come for it, then Dark Heart would have.
Leviathan: Dark Heart...is your enemy?
Zirca: The rift’s collapsing! We have to go!
Ignis: Blaze, move!
Blaze: Not this time. I injured this noble protector. I'll stay with it.
Zirca: You’ll die!
Blaze: I already did once, when Dark Heart took away my family. Might as well make it count.
He smiled — calm, defiant, haloed in flame as he pressed both palms into the ground. The heat expanded until the water turned to light.
Ignis tried to rush him, but Zirca grabbed her arm.
Zirca: He’s made his choice, Ignis!
Ignis: No! Blaze!
His voice came faintly through the comms.
Blaze: Go. Please. It's alright.
The signal cut. The explosion rose through the trench like dawn.
The Star Skimmer shot upward, engines overloading. The trench below became a swirling vortex of light and darkness. When they finally breached the surface, the ocean was eerily still.
Ignis sat in silence, staring at the empty horizon.
Ignis: He’s alive. I know it. He had to make it!
Zirca: The readings are gone. Nothing survived that.
Ignis: He’s Blaze Dominion. He’s fire. Fire doesn’t die. I refuse to believe it!
Zirca didn’t answer. She pulled up the Chrono Key.
Zirca: He didn't die for nothing. We have the last ke-
Ignis: He didn't die period! LOOK!
Suddenly, beside them a light grew in the water. The Leviathan burst forth, with Blaze Dominion on its back.
Blaze: Looks like I have life left in me yet!
Ignis: Haha! YEAH!
Zirca: Never been happier to be wrong. *sniff*
Tackleton: We did it! We have all the keys!
Zirca: Well, not all of the keys.
Tackleton: ...Oh yeah.
Magnum PT: That jabroni Velvette Rex stole one of the keys at the casino, and now, the hunt is on. Right Chief?
Tackleton: You got it! Next time of Star Prince and the Defenders of Everything, we go looking for Velvette Rex!
Lunara: I just hope we find him before Dark Heart does!
