Coastal City

Out on the edge of Coastal City, a press conference is being held.

???: Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I hold this press conference. I, Don Onyx, the famed investor of Coastal City. The Don who funded your schools and businesses, am hereby announcing I’m going to become a promoter!

The press there are murmuring and chatting at the announcement.

Journalist: What will you be promoting Mr. Onyx, sir?

Don Onyx: All kinds of sporting events, why limit myself to just one? Haha! My event I will be promoting is this!

Don then pulls down a veil on a poster. On it are various profile pictures of fighters, boxers, wrestlers, even chess players & racers. All encapsulating a trophy in the middle of the poster.

Don Onyx: Behold! The first ever Onyx Cup! A tournament comprising various skilled athletes in a Hybrid Martial Arts & Athletic Competition to decide the first holder of the Onyx Cup! And the winner will receive this!

Don Onyx then raises up from behind his podium a shining championship belt with a large amount of green gemstones adorning it, encapsulating the symbol in the middle of a hand pointing upwards in a “#1” gesture.

Don Onyx: This is the Emerald Championship. I was inspired recently by that one wrestling promotion out east called EBW with their meteor belt. I felt sure, that belt is otherworldly, priceless even. But how about something of earthly value? Diamonds? They’re at least $12k a dozen, but they’re lab grown nonsense. Gold? People eat that shit it’s so plentiful. Silver? It has value, sure but it’s of not much consequence; you can get by with titanium. Platinum? Only Elite retards care about it. Emeralds though? You can’t fake that. Emeralds are the real representation of Earth. Genuine, Thorough, Hardy, the sweat of Mother Earth itself. And only someone who’s of elite athletic comparison is worthy of my creation.

Journalist: How will you decide who’s going to compete for it?

Don Onyx: Simple really, the best of the best will fight it out. You may see here I have the current Chess Champion of Eagleland here, he’ll be competing using his skills at chess; his opponent using his skills. It won’t be direct competition, it will essentially be a race. Whoever wins of comparable skill, will continue. I’m going to be an elite promoter after all, so I need the best of the best.

Don Onyx Presents: The Onyx Cup

1. Chess vs Boxing: (Eagleland Chess Champion Norman Rhineholdt v Foggyland Chess Champion Bartholomew Pudgrey Esq.) vs (World Middleweight Boxing Champion Hector Juanito v #2 Middleweight Contender George Vanny)
2. MMA vs Wrestling: (EFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Hiddleston v PRODE Heavyweight Champion Franky Dental) vs (Mick Gage v ???)
3. Racing vs Sumo (Gale Earndhart the 3rd vs Time Trial) vs (Hakatakawake vs 5 rival stablemates)

Re: Coastal City

The seaside of Coastal City is a tourist location filled with hotels and tourist traps, occasionally downtown in the urban housing district the sounds of dominoes falling and cards being slapped down can be heard with laughter, light arguing, and clinking of bottles as atmosphere. Inside the Dolphin Hotel Exhibit Hall sees Don Onyx hob-nobbing around with dignitaries and people in masquerade, big smiles and shining cuff-links; business cards and greasy palms. In the backdrop sees staging for his press conference of the competitors. The Emerald Championship is shining in the center of the tables surrounded by microphones and flowers as the stars have yet to take their seats.

Man in a masquerade: Mr. Onyx, we certainly have great expectations for your event.

Don Onyx: It’s going to be a big event, lots of cash to be earned and women to kiss. Or men if that’s your pleasure. I hear you’re a big fan of certain baked meals…

Man in a masquerade: We don’t talk that business Mr. Onyx. Not here.

The man in the masquerade was visibly upset as Don Onyx patted his back.

Don Onyx: I’m only teasing, only teasing. This will be a clean promoted event. So many of the sports in this world are too narrow focused, not seeing the forest for the trees. I plan to change that. Promoting is about promoting a product. I got my start promoting garage bands, bought and sold contracts to make my fortune.

Man in a masquerade: And buying debt contracts as well.

Don Onyx: Broad Strokes my friend, broad strokes. Ah! Here come my stars.

The two were nearly blinded by the backflash of the camera as they captured the competitors entering the hall.

Norman Rhineholdt, Eagleland’s Chess Champion, from Valentine he dabbled in Chess in High School. When the country’s competition for chess announced their tournament, his mother encouraged him to sign up. And by the surprise of everyone, including himself, he won the competition. The All Eagleland Boy hoping to win the Emerald Title for his mother.

Bartholomew Pudgrey Esquire, Foggyland’s Chess Champion, from Winters at the Snow Wood Boarding School. An eighth generation Pudgrey of the region that had the pressure from his family to upload the name’s standard. His father a banker, his grandfather a banker, so on and so forth. Instilled to have deep knowledge of numbers and planning. Chess was mandatory to become an expert, his great great great great grandfather held the World Chess Championship for 30 years. High standards for the young man, who’s destined to face Norman in the future.

Hector Juanito, the World Middleweight Champion of Boxing as recognized by World Boxing Enterprise. Hector is your average athlete that made a name for himself in Anuac Boxing, Holding the Anuac Athletic Commission Middleweight Title since he was 17 until he challenged for the World title at 21, beating the previous champion Marvin Dempsey in the 5th round by TKO after a punch burst open Marvin’s eyebrow. The Emerald Championship is just a forward goal, no resting on laurels.

George Vanny is the WBE #2 Ranked Middleweight Boxer, brought into the Onyx Cup to essentially be Hector’s dance partner. George is from the Northeast of Eagleland, also growing up near a coastline he’s familiar with training for this type of environment. Going through the ranks, George hasn’t had standout victories but he’s been consistent at getting the judge’s decision.

Tom Hiddleston, the Eagleland Fighting Championship Heavyweight Champion came from Twoson in the Midwest of Eagleland. A regular Joe who helps out at the Meager Livin’ Farm near Peaceful Rest Valley. Was an Amateur wrestler in college, not quite making it very far in tournaments. Really bloomed once he was taken under the wing of a Judoka who was scouting at the wrestling matches. When EFC started, they were desperate for fighters and Tom was one of the first applicants. There he faced Jiu Jitsu and Karate fighters until winning his big championship match against Charles Lidel. With no defenses yet, he hopes to win the Emerald Championship to establish his validity as a fighter.

Franky Dental, the Heavyweight Champion of PRODE in Edo. He’s a naturalized citizen of Edo after meeting his wife there 12 years ago. Franky was formally a bouncer for a club in Kamurocho, and was pushed to try PRODE as a hobby after winning some underground fights. He makes good money, and that’s all he’s hoping for as his wife is pregnant with their 2nd child. That’s why he joined the Onyx Cup, the signing bonus check alone allowed them to live in Edo comfortably for at least 8 months.

Mick Gage the old stalwart of the upper Northeast Independents, and a former VBW Champion. Mick is here for one thing and one thing only, violence and drugs. He already plans on selling the Emerald Championship at a pawn shop.

Gale Earndhart the 3rd, the legendary racer in southeast of Eagleland. His father and grandfather were racers for most of their lives. Driving anything with wheels. Stock cars, go-karts, Indy cars, you name it. Gale’s father is famous for narrowly escaping a hard crash into the wall at Daytona, if he was even a millimeter off, he’d have died. Racing for the Onyx Cup was approved by the Racing Commission of Eagleland as awarding points for the yearly Driver’s Cup. Racing is in his blood, it’s what he does. Nothing else matters.

Hakatakawake, real name Shoichi Ichiyama, is a sumo wrestler of the Ryukyu Kansai Stable. He’s relatively young for the sport at 20 but he’s got healthy knees and strong weight. He’s charmed the female audience with his good looks and strong muscles. His most famous picture is when his veins in his arm veins popped during a sumo match that went wild on Edoese Social media. He's humble about his success, using it when trying to advocate for the rights of Edoese Citizens against bureaucracy.

Don Onyx: Well, if you'll excuse me.

The man in the masquerade stepped back and into the crowd before disappearing, as Don Onyx took the stage with the competitors. All smiles and circumstance as they all seated for the press conference.

Reporter: Mr. Onyx! How much of a gate do you hope this event does?

Don Onyx: It’s my first event as a promoter, but our estimations are high!

Reporter: Mr. Hiddleston! The EFC apparently didn’t sanction this fight, according to Dana Wheft. Any comments on that?

Tom Hiddleston: I’m not defending the Heavyweight title so it shouldn’t be a problem. My contract with them isn’t exclusive or has no non-compete clauses.

Reporter: Mr. Vanny, do you expect this to also go to a judge’s decision?

George Vanny: Of course I’m going to try and go for the win, I’m not looking to leave it to chance. Kinda… kinda insulted you asked that.

Reporter: Mr. Onyx! Are you able to reveal Mr. Gage’s opponent?

Don Onyx: I am! And believe me when I say this is my crown jewel of this event!

Don Onyx stood up and extended his arm to the entrance, beaming with pride.

Don Onyx: Ladies and Gentlemen! I present to you! A Legend not only among Eagleland, but around the World! A Legend among the stars! A beast slayer, a giant among giants, a King in so many words! The husband of heralded beauty, and friend to a sensation of more! Half Bad, but all Dude! A World Champion of not just one, but three planets! The All Eagleland Eaglelander! Tack Angel!

Tack Angel & Makoto Angel walked through the entrance and was near blinded by the flash photography, he posed with his arms out yelling a triumphant roar as Makoto held his waist close to her. They walked up to the staging as Tack momentarily turned his back to the press to talk with Makoto, who rubbed his eyes for him gently, blinded by the flashes. Norman Rhineholdt actually stood up from his seat and shook Tack’s hand, apparently already a big fan. Gale Earndhart the 3rd apparently just laughed loudly at the whole event, amused by the introduction. Tack took a seat and Makoto sat on his lap, arm around his shoulders. Don Onyx was all smiles, as some of the other competitors were unamused.

Reporter: Mr. Angel! We certainly didn’t expect you here in Coastal City! EBW doesn’t come here, opting for beach locations like Summers.

Tack Angel: I didn’t expect it either, but I was made a generous offer. Makoto and I talked it over and thought it’d be a good idea. She’s really supportive.

Makoto leaned her head on his and rubbed his far arm, pressing her body against his.

Makoto Angel: I won’t be here for the event, just wanted to support him for today. I always wanted him to try new things, like he does for me. So we support each other in that aspect.

Mick Gage: Oh goody goody, got the two luv boids pawing at each other. Prick.

Tack & Makoto ignored the comment as they faced forward.

Don Onyx: I wanted the best of the best for this tournament and I got the best.

Mick Gage: You wanted the best and you hired this himbo with his bimbo wife?

Tack & Makoto Angel: Hey!

Tack Angel: That’s my wife you’re talking about pal, don’t call her a bimbo.

Makoto Angel: He’s not a himbo, he’s very kind and intelligent. He’s emotionally broad.

Mick Gage: Says the broad, hey since you’re dressed like a Goth IHOP worker, why don’t you fetch me a pancake stack, eh? Or would you rather give me your pancake you got up top there?

Tack stood up as Makoto hopped off his lap, before Tack could do anything Makoto went to move to slap him but was stopped by Hakatakawake.

Hakatakawake: Onigai ojou-san, yamete kure.

Makoto Angel: Hanashite!

Tack Angel: Hey get your hands off my wife!

Hakatakawake did release Makoto, but Mick Gage instigated by tossing his water glass towards Makoto, which was blocked by Franky Dental’s body, which got wet. Tempers were starting to flare, as Don Onyx smiled. Bartholomew Pudgrey Esq. already left the table without a word, as Hector Juanito pulled Mick Gage away.

Re: Coastal City

Tack Angel & Makoto Angel were ushered by security into a limo after the raucous press conference, unknowingly followed by Don Onyx, who slipped in behind them.

Don Onyx: That couldn’t have gone better.

Tack held Makoto’s arm gently as he examined where Hakatakawake gripped her, Makoto meanwhile was stroking Tack’s short hair.

Tack Angel: Are you hurt?

Makoto Angel: I’m fine, he didn’t grip me hard at all. He was just protecting me honestly.

Tack Angel: I don’t like that he did that.

Makoto Angel: I know, that’s why I love you. You want to protect me, like I want to protect you.

Makoto turned to Don Onyx who had a grin only a Cheshire cat could have.

Makoto Angel: Why did you sign Mick Gage anyway? He’s a brute.

Don Onyx: For exactly what happened Mrs. Angel, he’s a sub 90-IQ man who’s only instinct is the next thing. He has no plans for the future and that’s why he has no fear. He’s only thinking in the now, and in the now he saw you as a whore.

Tack Angel sharply turned his head to Don Onyx, who lifted his arms up in surrender.

Don Onyx: Not that I think that way, heavens no. But he got the reaction I wanted, chaos, excitement, that press conference alone guaranteed at least a quarter of a million buys.

Tack Angel: I don’t want him or any of the others near my wife again.

Don Onyx: Done! You already said Mrs. Angel, you were just here for the press conference.

Makoto Angel: I’ll be busy with EBW, yes.

Makoto turns to Tack and holds his hands in hers.

Makoto Angel: But the Sensations and I will be watching, we’ll be rooting for you.

Makoto slowly leaned her head onto his as Tack took a deep sigh.

Tack Angel: I’m definitely motivated now.

Don Onyx: That’s wonderful! Exactly what I needed from you Mr. Angel. I certainly hope you meet my expectations.

Makoto was still leaning on his head before raising it and kissing Tack’s forehead.

Makoto Angel: He’ll surpass them.

Don Onyx: We’ll take you directly to the airport Mrs. Angel, I’m sure Mr. Angel will want to see you off.

The rest of the limo ride was quiet as Tack & Makoto held each other to keep the other calm, Don Onyx meanwhile was on his phone texting away and up-keeping on the news cycle of his presser, grinning the entire time.

Re: Coastal City

Announcer: Hello everyone and thank you for tuning into the first event promoted by Coastal City Entrepreneur Don Onyx, The Onyx Cup! We hope to bring you four contests of exciting action!

The outdoor staging was vast due to the various events that were due to happen, with crowd members both inside and outside the track for the time trial and the various ring set ups. Celebrities could be seen inside the track wearing headphones and there were celebrities, politicians, and big wigs in suites on the outside high up. It’s a noted Black Tie & Champaign Dress affair, not a T-shirt in sight, something obviously not for the general public. Throughout the crowd you could occasionally see men and women in masquerades, talking and chatting with others. Greasy palms and sweet chords.

Announcer: Our first contest is Chess vs Boxing! It’s a race to the finish, to see who advances to the Main Event. All four contestants have 30 minutes to win their match. Our Chess Masters will be on the standard timer system, with only 10 seconds to make a move. While our Boxers will have five 5-minute rounds with 1 minute round breaks. If the 30 minutes are up, then it will go to the judges. And our Judges for this contest will be…
Binky Bickman, a pen salesman
Chadwick Nibbins, concert pianist
Dick Sloop, Aluminum siding salesman
Announcer: And with that, Let the match begin!

1. Chess vs Boxing: (Eagleland Chess Champion Norman Rhineholdt v Foggyland Chess Champion Bartholomew Pudgrey Esq.) vs (World Middleweight Boxing Champion Hector Juanito v #2 Middleweight Contender George Vanny)

Hector and George went at it fast, throwing punches left and right. Knowing they have the advantage over Chess if they’re able to get a quick KO. The two experts at chess while moving at blinding speed themselves are experts at the game and were more likely to reach stalemate more frequently than a boxing fight would. Norman and Barthalomew knew this and were hitting the timer after each move so hard, they had to calm themselves down to prevent penalties for knocking pieces over. Bartholomew took the first knight and rook, while Hector took a knight and bishop. Round 3 for the boxers saw Hector show his championship stride as he ducked and waved through the punches of George, landing counter after counter. However when Round 4 started, Norman took Bartholomew’s Queen after a misplay, it was nearing the end of the match. A coach of George saw this and yelled at the ring to George to hurry up, his chances were starting to fall through. Bartholomew to his credit tried really hard to mount a comeback, wiping out Norman’s pawns and only his queen and a few others to protect the king. Norman however knew the inevitable, this was going to go to a Draw. So he came up with a plan as he was moving pieces blindingly. When it was his turn, he was going to intentionally surrender by placing his king in the middle, but as it came to his turn and he grabbed the king the Boxing Ring’s bell rang. And the unexpected happened, George Vanny knocked out Hector Juanito. The #2 contender just beat the Middleweight Champion of the World. The crowd erupted in cheers, as Bartholomew figured out what Norman was going to do. Hector was out cold as George’s hand was raised. Bartholomew extended his hand to Norman in sportsmanship and was accepted.

Announcer: And the winner, by Knock Out! The World Boxing Enterprise Middleweight #2 contender! George Vanny!

Hector Juanito was still out cold, and suddenly the atmosphere got more cold as well. Medics quickly ran into the ring and checked out Hector, who was glassy eyed and snoring. Norman and Bartholomew ran to the ring to check it out but were pulled back by their parents. George Vanny went pale himself as his trainers and coaches tried to hype him up, he was too caught up by the sight of Hector knocked out.

But the most chilling of all, is how the crowd didn’t care. They ignored the terrible accident in the ring, and were clinking Champaign flutes and laughing to each other.

Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen! If I could now direct you to the East of our staging for our next contest.

The crowd moved as medics still attended to Hector, George on his knees, and the young Chess Masters’ heads turned away. The lighting darkened on the boxing ring and Chess Table as it brightened up on the Cage Den’s and Wrestling Rings.

Announcer: For our second match it is once again a 30 minute contest. Our MMA Fighters will fight for five 5-minute rounds with 1 minute breaks and our wrestlers will be going at it for the entire 30 minutes. Standard Mixed Martial Arts rules apply for the cage while our wrestlers will be going at it, I’ve just been informed, with No Disqualifications! If the 30 minutes are up, then it will go to the judges. And our Judges for this contest will be…
Jared Blimpson, sub shop franchiser
Tyler Grundle, gynaecologist
Steve Floop, Reddit Mod
Announcer: And now, let the contest begin!

2. MMA vs Wrestling: (EFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Hiddleston v PRODE Heavyweight Champion Franky Dental) vs (Mick Gage v Tack Angel)

Tom and Franky started off slow, feeling each other out. But in the wrestling ring, as soon as the bell rang, Tack Angel was a house of fire. Closeline after closeline, Mick tried to roll out to escape and grab a weapon but Tack would roll him back in. Mick was getting staggered and before the first round of the MMA fight even ended, Tack had Mick in the Torture Rack and racked him repeatedly. Forcing Mick to end the contest quickly by tapping out.

Announcer: Incredible! The Star Prince racked Mick Gage on his shoulders with ease. The No Disqualifications rule had no impact at all on the fight and look, he’s on the turnbuckle now!

Tack Angel: I love you Makoto!!!

Announcer: A display of love from a dedicated husband, admirable for sure.

The crowd applauded in polite claps, while groaning a bit.

???: I wanted violence, not domination…

???: So much for that extra money I paid…

The people in Masquerade slowly started to mumble and groan as the lighting changed.

Announcer: If I could have you all join us over on the West side now as we finish off our Opening contests.

The West side of the staging saw a Sumo ring set up with traditional flair, while at the same time a pit was off to the side where a pit crew was making final touches on a race car.

Announcer: Our final contest of the opening will see Mr. Gale Earndhart attempting to circle the track around our staging twice before our other competitor the Komusubi Ranked Hakatakawake-Senshu takes down 5 of his rival stablemates. It’ll be quick so don’t turn away! In fact things will be so fast we don’t have a need for judges. So let the contest begin in, 3! 2! 1! Go!

Gale put pedal to the metal as Hakatakawake slammed into the first stablemate. Hakatakawake went for an inside grip with an outside handle on the mawashi. With exerting force he lifted and pushed the rival outside the ring and quickly returned to the East side of the ring to prepare for the next rival as Gale made his second turn. Just as quick, they next rival slammed into Hakatakawake, which he received with a grip under the armpit to use the momentum to turn over the rival before Gale reached the third turn. Set up again, Hakatakawake slammed into the third rival with Tsuppari slaps to the face, the heel of his palms striking the chin. And it was enough to knock down the third rival. Setting up quickly as Gale finished his first lap and is already past turn 1. Hakatakawake with surprising feat rushed at the fourth rival and forced him out before Gale could reach turn 2. This allowed Hakatakawake to face against his fifth rival and quickly hip toss him down to get the win. Hakatakawake is noticeably exhausted even though he tries to maintain composed due to his training and sumo tradition.

Announcer: And there we have it! Our Three-way is set! Boxer George Vanny will face Mars Champion Tack Angel and Komusubi Ranked Hakatakawake!

Don Onyx was clapping in his executive suite at seeing his Opening Card be in his eyes, a success even if the amount of people in masquerade was growing smaller and smaller.

Don Onyx: Ha ha ha! This is exactly what I was hoping for! The best of the best, athletes from all over the world, competing for ME! This is the true version of Mixed Martial Arts, the body, the mind, the will! *He takes a deep breath, air visibly pouring into his nose* God yes, I feel it! The Excitement!

A woman from the shadows appeared behind him and put a hand on his shoulder, Don placed his hand on hers.

Don Onyx: Do you feel that girl? Do you feel the excitement?

Woman: I do father, I do. It feels good…

A long intermission took place to allow the competitors to recover. George Vanny in his lockeroom was noticeably shaken, it’s one thing for a boxer to beat another, it’s a whole other thing to knock one out cold. Hector Juanito still hadn’t woken up after the fight and was rushed to the hospital. Tack Angel was in his lockeroom on the phone with his wife as he was in a meditation seating position on the floor. While Hakatakawake was looked after by his stablemates.

Makoto Angel: Are you okay Tack?

Tack Angel: Yeah, I’m okay. He got what he deserved.

Makoto Angel: We all saw it here, Usagi was freaking out how quick you got him while Rei was laughing.

Tack Angel: I cinched in the Rack hard just for you.

Makoto Angel: And it worked, both in winning the match and how I felt the love we have for each other.

Tack Angel: I love you.

Makoto Angel: And I love you. Go win.

Tack Angel: I will.

Announcer: It’s tiiiiiiiiime for our Main Event! Please make your way to the Grand Stage for the finale of our event!

The crowd of suits and cocktail dresses with drinks in hand made their way to the Grand Stage, a unique Wrestling Ring with a mat of clay to emulate the Sumo Ring. George Vanny made his way to the ring by his trainers but was already looking like he was regretting it. Tack Angel made his way solo, looking no worse for wear. And Hakatakawake made his way with his stablemates, still looking a little sweaty.

Announcer: With our finals, because of the styles of our competitors, it will be under “T.K.R.O. Rules”. It will be elimination style and you will have to either knock out your opponent till he can not continue, is knocked down for a 10 count for a Technical Knock Out, or is knocked out of the ring for a Ring Out. No pinfalls, no submissions, no draws, only will! The match will only end with a winner! Let the match begin!

The bell rang and Hakatakawake immediately ran toward George Vanny and pushed him out quickly, George had no resistance as he was clearly distracted by the earlier knock out to Hector Juanito.

Announcer: Incredible, the Komusubi just eliminated the #2 Ranked Middleweight Boxer George Vanny! The Heavyweight showing why the Middleweight Boxer had nothing on the Openweight competition of Sumo! It’s now between the two big men of the contest!

Hakatakwake turned to Tack as Tack had waited for him to get into position, a sign of respect from the Pro Wrestler to the Sumo Wrestler. In further respect, Tack bent down and placed his fists on the clay, waiting for Hakatakawake to put his fists down on the invisible Tachiai. Hakatakawake put one fist down and stared down at Tack, rolling his other wrist as he slowly lowered it onto the clay. With a sudden thrust Hakatakawake pistoned the loose fist onto the clay and both men rushed at each other. Tack immediately forced the sumo’s arms into a lockup, not allowing the sumo to reach for his tights. Hakatakawake’s arms bulged as he tried to overpower the pro wrestler and it was working, Tack was being pushed back, sliding against the clay with locked legs, showing the strength of the Komusubi. However, Tack forced the lockup off with momentum to his right, and with that opening slammed a kick right into the solar plexus of Hakatakawake, the sumo was reeling as Tack slammed kick after kick in measured but powerful strikes. Tack took the open opportunity to slide across the clay on his knee as he ducked a grab and went behind Hakatakawake, picking him up for a takedown. If this were sumo, this would be a win, but it’s not enough in a TKRO match. Tack would grab Hakatakawake’s head in a front chancery and started kneeing the sumo in the head. Hakatakawake would fight back by sliding out of the headlock and quickly getting up, Tack rushed at him and Hakatakawake would hip toss him onto the clay before attempting a pro wrestling move himself in an Anaconda Vice. And it is a smart strategy as without Tack’s arm strength, he wouldn’t be able to lift. Tack could feel his elbow being stretched as his air pathway was being squeezed, Tack would kick the air to try and loosen the grip. Hakatakawake was inexperienced in pro wrestling moves but was able to keep at least a loose hold on Tack’s arm, it wasn’t enough though as Tack was able to get out of the hold with a spin. He sprinted up as fast as he could while Hakatakawake struggled to get up and Tack would stomp on the sumo’s hands. The Sumo not used to being attacked while grounded. The damage was distracting enough for Tack to grip the sumo’s head and knee him in the gut, before going behind him up and lifting him in surprising strength before slamming him with a Supreme Thunder Dragon Suplex! Tack stood up as the ref started the count, Hakatakawake tried to get up but could only get to one knee before the ref counted to 10. Tack Angel had won the match by Technical Knock Out!

Announcer: Amazing fight between the Komusubi and the Star Prince himself! I see that Tack is helping up Hakatakawake as he shakes his hand. Hakatakawake lightly bows as they shake hands, before the sumo is now being helped out by his stablemates! An amazing fight! A true mixed martial arts battle! It seems that Don Onyx himself is entering the ring as the referee is raising his arm in victory!

A ringside attendant was wiping off the clay from Tack’s body as Tack is approached by Don Onyx, with the Emerald Title Belt in hand.

Don Onyx: Well done my champion, well done.

Tack Angel: I assume that I’ll be getting that bonus then? I have lots of work to do for my future.

Don Onyx: Of course, you did win after all. Here, let me put this on you.

Don Onyx went behind Tack and wrapped the Emerald Title around his waist, grinning with a wild smile and his sunglasses shining red with what surely was just the lights of the venue.

Tack Angel: So you pulled off your event, I assume you’ll go back to promoting your athletes and events?

Don Onyx: Of course, it may not involve you. But rest assured, my champion, I will call on you again.

Tack Angel: What? I thought this was a one off thing?

Don Onyx: One off? Surely you jest. We’re just getting started.

Don finished clasping on the belt snaps onto the waist of Tack before facing him.

Don Onyx: I have lots of plans for you… *Whispering* King…

Tack was startled a bit before noticing Don Onyx’s shades start to have a red glow from a light that wasn’t coming from outside the sunglasses, but inside.

Tack Angel: Who are you? Really.

Don Onyx smiled, and put his hands up before lowering them down.

Don Onyx: Oh trust me my champion, you are in no danger. And neither is your wife or anyone here. What I am is… how do I put it… not exactly of any legitimate threat. Please, we’ll talk later. For now, smile for the camera. You are the Emerald Champion after all.

Don would put his hand on Tack shoulder as Tack posed for the cameras. Don smiled nice and big as Tack had a focused face.

Tack had showered and was in his suit, Emerald Championship on his shoulder as he was escorted to the executive suite of the venue. The lighting of the suite was low as the window showed venue crew taking down the staging in the background to return it to being a beach. Tack settled into a chair as Don Onyx and a woman were there waiting for him.

Tack Angel: So, who are you really?

Don Onyx: Straight and to the point my champion, I like that in you.

Woman: Congratulations champion.

Don Onyx: Please, let me introduce you to my daughter, Carmilla Onyx.

Carmilla lightly waves her fingers in greeting.

Carmilla Onyx: Believe me Mr. Angel sir, the pleasure is all mine.

Tack Angel: Charmed.

Don Onyx: But you want answers, I respect that so I’ll get to the point. My champion, we are certainly not of this plane of existence. That’s for certain.

Tack gripped his arms on the chair. Something both Onyx members put their hands up in fealty.

Carmilla Onyx: Please our champion!... Tack… I… We mean you no harm!

Don Onyx: yes, yes, far from it. You see, I am an incubus and my daughter here is a succubus. But not in that stereotypical way…

Tack Angel: You’re what?

Carmilla Onyx: Fiends, but born from desire.

Don Onyx: We’re thousands of years old and have been trying our best to live peacefully. We literally don’t know how to die.

Tack Angel: Sounds like an Infernal to me.

Don Onyx: Infernal? What’s an infernal?

Both Onyxs looked at each other in confusion, that seemed genuine enough for Tack.

Tack Angel: Nevermind, so you’re an anomaly of the Earth?

Don Onyx: Correct, and the only way we know how to live is to feed.

Carmilla Onyx: Feed off of excitement.

Tack Angel: That sounds so familiar…

Don Onyx: Oh! Are there others like us?

Both seemed genuinely surprised as they looked at Tack with expectation.

Tack Angel: I’m not sure, it’s like an old memory I can’t quite get a grip on… So what is it you need from me?

Don cleared his throat and adjusted his tie.

Don Onyx: Well, as our champion, we need you to drive excitement for us. We feed off of my normal investments, but it’s being stretched thin due to Orange Man messing with the economy. That championship on your shoulder is directly connected to us, as long as you keep providing excitement in your work, we keep fed. That’s all we ask from you.

Tack Angel: So you want me to just carry it around, that’s all?

Don Onyx: Near you if possible, doesn’t have to be directly on you. But all we ask is you don’t leave it at home, in your locker room is close enough.

Tack Angel: And that’s it?

Carmilla Onyx: We may ask you to fight for us outside of your wrestling if our investments get stretched.

Don Onyx: Yes, I may have to ask you to be under our banner with me as your promoter. To drive excitement.

Tack Angel: Something similar to tonight?

Don Onyx: It really all depends on what we can invest in at the time. But please, can you do this for us?

Tack stood and adjusted his tie, grabbing the Emerald Title and slung it over his shoulder.

Tack Angel: For now, I will help you. But I reserve the right to leave at any moment.

Carmilla Onyx: Completely fair, we understand. We know you are a good person who will keep our secret.

Don Onyx: That’s right, no legal contract needed. We just genuinely need your help.

Tack Angel: That’s fine, call on me if you need me. I hope tonight was enough for a while.

Carmilla Onyx: It was! We so greatly appreciate it.

Tack leaned over and shook both of their hands before leaving out the door. Carmilla & Don sighed in relief as he left.

Carmilla Onyx: He’s a good man.

Don Onyx: Better than we had any right to ask…
